If you see Lizbeth I suggest to avoid her at all costs and come back when Jessica is staffing the desk. The all-inclusive Iberostar Grand Paraíso in Riviera Maya is located right on the beachfront and has been designed with adults in mind. She even asked us if we had any other questions when we were done with the restaurant booking. However another reservation desk staff member, Jessica, was absolutely incredible and made sure that we were heard and wanted us to have the best experience possible. We had an impression that she didn’t want to deal with us and wanted us to leave as soon as possible. ![]() ![]() We were not trying to make another reservation in the same day but just wanted to know where to go for the rest of our vacation so we can try to plan better. We would ask her what the most popular restaurants were and she would insist that we come back and ask the same question the next day because we had already made a reservation that day. Lizbeth had a huge attitude when speaking to us and was not helpful at all when we were asking questions. The main reason for me leaving a 4 star review is the difficulty of dealing with one of the staff members at the reservation desk that helps book restaurants. Our favorites were the steakhouse (Santa Fe), French (Brasserie) and the Hibachi (Tokyo). The buffet had good food options too but the food really shined at the a la carte restaurants. There were also wild sea turtles which I had the pleasure of swimming with every day while staying here. The beach was very clean and the water was so beautiful and clear that you could see the ocean floor even when you swam out further. She told us when activities were happening, had a great energy to her and really made us feel welcome. The entertainment staff by the main pool was amazing, especially Ari. We stayed at the Oaxaca building which was a little far from the pool and beach area but was right next to the double decker bus stop which brought us to the lobby of the hotel and all other areas of the resort. This is our second time booking a trip at this at this resort and overall we had a great experience. I’m not sure if I want to be loyal to Barcelo group after all of that. I can’t understand why staff at the restaurants/cleaners/staff around the pool is so friendly and at the same time folks on check in desk and concierge are not friendly and don’t know how to talk with client. Food in the buffet was even worse than in 2021 (COVID), and can’t even be compared to our 2019 stay, which is weird cause during our stay hotel was booked by 97% (concierge shared it as a reason why I can’t have late check out) and a part of buffet wasn’t even in use. Even without this awful mistake - the process when I need to go to do a reservation each day was absolutely embarrassing and worse then all my last stays.Ĥ. And after they told us about this mistake they weren’t able to offer us another reservation. There was a time when we booked a Japanese restaurant a week! ahead and the day before we supposed to go we realized we have a check for a wrong person, we found out that concierge printed a check from someone other’s reservation and haven’t done one for us. This process isn’t user friendly at all and staff isn’t friendly also. A la cart Restaurant’s reservation process was a pain for me and our friend this time. ![]() all the people at the desk told me “we don’t have early check in at all” which making me think the company should delete this option from their website of it is not relevant.Ģ. the line is ridiculously long and slow, we’we spend 1.5 hour in the line! ![]() Here are some things that worsened our experience: I wasn’t expecting that my current stay would be worse then during COVID in 2021 but unfortunately it was. Homemade muffins were originally prepared as a healthy breakfast option, high-fibre mid-afternoon snack or low calorie dessert. One of Canada’s top selling cookbooks of the 1980s was Muffin Mania, which helped popularize muffin making from Newfoundland to British Columbia. The expression muffin-man, meaning a street seller of muffins, is attested in a 1754 poem, which includes the line: “Hark! the shrill Muffin-Man his Carol plies…” The word is first found in print in 1703, spelled moofin it is of uncertain origin but possibly derived from the Low German Muffen, the plural of Muffe meaning a small cake. Culinary historians also look to the Old French mou-pain, meaning soft bread, which may have been corrupted into “mouffin.” One 19th century source suggests that muffins may be related to the Greek bread maphula, a cake baked on a hearth or griddle. The flatbread “ English Muffin” variety is of British origin, and dates from at least the early 18th century, while the quickbread originated in Canada and America during the 19th century. Netflix's wildly popular series is being released in two parts this year, with the first batch available to stream now.
